We are extending our call for summer studentship proposals to 5:00pm Monday 13th of April.

This programme is for undergraduate students in scientific or clinical fields who are interested in pursuing a career in human genetics. 

We are seeking group leaders who would like to host a research intern for up to 8 weeks in summer 2026. The ISHG will provide a weekly stipend of 250 euro to facilitate the internship.

The intern will then be welcome to present their research project at the ISHG Conference in RCSI on Friday the 4th of September 2026.

If you are interested, please submit a brief project proposal containing –

  • Your name, position and institution
  • Research theme
  • A short project description (maximum 200 words), including the techniques and approaches that the successful student will receive training in.
  • Successful applicants will be informed on Monday 20th of April can then begin advertising to undergraduate students. We note PIs may already have a student in mind, who can be named within the application.
